GYST Projects

Nearly 2 billion people live without electricity and a dependable supply of water. They lack the tools to access the global economy. The connections to the world of education and information do not exist for them. We are all deprived of a vast untapped potential of human contribution.

High school and college student volunteers with the Global Youth Service Team:

  • Undergo training in solar energy and UV water purification systems installation and maintenance.
  • Train so that they can teach solar energy theory and how to troubleshoot systems.
  • Apply the science that they have learned at school so that they can build sustainable energy systems and instruct in areas of the world where there is the most need due to energy and resource poverty.
